WHY WE CARE ABOUT CHURCH PLANTING

We believe church planting is one of the primary ways the gospel of Jesus Christ advances in our world.

Liberti Church wouldn’t exist if there weren’t other churches who also believed this. As we have generously received from other local churches who have gone before us, we are likewise committed to generously support the ongoing work of church planting.

Liberti churches seek to live as those who are empowered and motivated by God’s love and grace. We believe that the mercy we have experienced should influence the causes we care about. We seek out the things that are broken, that they might be fixed.

Liberti churches can be identified by our essential core values that are expressed and lived out within the Liberti Communion of Churches. These flow from the gospel of Jesus and shape how we relate to God in worship, to each other in community, and to the world in mercy. This is the foundational Gospel calling for all Liberti Churches and therefore we seek to cultivate these core values.

The Acts 29 Network | www.acts29.com

Acts 29 is a diverse global family of church-planting churches characterized by theological clarity, cultural engagement, and missional innovation.

Acts 29 strives to be known for planting churches that plant churches, pursuing holiness and humility, being a radically diverse and global community, and praying for conversions through evangelism. Acts 29 recruits church planters dedicated to leading church-planting churches, assesses men based on core competencies to lead church-planting churches, and develops men who are planting or leading church-planting churches through coaching, training, and support.

Greg & Alexis Kabakjian | Midtown Community Church

Midtown Community Church exists to see the weak, wounded, and wayward of Midtown Harrisburg encounter and enjoy the living Jesus.

When the people of Israel were sent into exile in the foreign nation of Babylon, rather than telling them to isolate themselves and live in their own separate enclaves, God commands the people to seek the good of the city (Jer. 29:7). He urges them essentially to get jobs, buy houses, and spend their time and energy for the common good of the place where God has them (Jer. 29:4). In the same way, God has called his church, his “pilgrim people,” to root down in specific places in order to love the city and invest in its flourishing. This is why we chose to put the title of the neighborhood of Midtown into our name. We want this church to be made up of those who love Midtown and the city of Harrisburg, who root down here to love this neighborhood, to see people come to Jesus, and to see its culture thrive. And by the power of the Holy Spirit, we hope to show this neighborhood a counter-cultural community of love created by the gospel of Jesus.

Evan & Amanda Curry | Liberti Church Northeast (Phila)

Northeast Philadelphia is quickly approaching half a million people. That's a 1/3 of the population of Philadelphia! It is now the most under-served, under-churched region within Philadelphia, quickly becoming the most racially diverse section of Philadelphia as a gathering place for hundreds of people-groups from all over the world.

As part of the Liberti Communion of Churches, our desire is for people to experience the freedom only Jesus brings. So, we are seeking to plant a church with a body of believers who will live, speak, and serve as the very presence of Jesus for Northeast Philadelphia.

Ricky & Audrey Love | Wellspring Church

Wellspring is a new church plant in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Our hope and prayer is to see a movement of gospel preaching joy saturated churches all throughout this four state region.

Raphael & Heidi Mnkandhla | City Church of Williamsport

City Church exists to extend the Glory of God by making disciples through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are three driving ideas embedded into the City church mission statement that capture our hopes and dreams as a church and as individuals: To extend the Glory of God, by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Joe & Kristy Marlin | Ephiphany Church Gloucester City

Building Bridges for the Glory of God and the Good of neighbors, Epiphany is a new church for Gloucester City and surrounding towns. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus who become a family together, for the good of Gloucester City and beyond.

We are here to serve real needs, and celebrate the good things already happening in our neighborhoods. We want to build up a church that loves each other, loves our city and creates a safe place for people to explore what they believe for themselves.
